Driver CPC: Guide to getting your Driver CPC and Training.

If you are a Lorry, truck, minibus or bus driver, you need Driver CPC for commercial services, otherwise you cannot legally provide services for anyone. The Driver Certificate for Professional competence is an important thing in job. It is important that you never try to provide service without this as you will be jailed and fined for public endangerment on the charge that you were not competent enough to provide services yourself.
Driver Certificate of Competence
Driver CPC is made of a total of two units, however the units each have two sections and you need to finish the first section from each unit to actually get your regular license. The First unit is Theoretical and the second is Practical.
Unit I – Theoretical
The theoretical exam contains two sections, the first section has two parts, one is the Theory questions and the second is the Hazard perception.
Section I – Theory Questions and Hazard Perception
Theory Questions
The Theory questions are the multiple choice type and each can have more than one answer as required by the question. The exam is of 100 marks and one question has 1 mark, the score of 85% is required to pass this exam.

Hazard Perception
The Hazard perception exam is made of visual simulators, there are 19 different clips with each clip containing at least 1 and at most 2-3 hazards that you need to spot and press the button for, you need 65% marks to pass this exam.
Section II – Case Study
The Case study exam in Driver CPC needs to be passed within 2 years of the first section, otherwise you will have to do all of it from the start. The case study needs to be read and the information provided is usually depicting a scene and you need to answer the questions based on the case you read.

Section I – Practical Exam
On Road Exam
The Road Exams are normal Practical exams that show the skill of the driver and provide the examiner with the knowledge of how well the person actually drives on the road.
Questions
The Questions are asked during the Practical exam, the questions normally are regarding your actions and about the way or driving, some can be trick questions so stick to what you know.
Safety
The Safety measures of checking the mirror and putting on your seatbelt, letting the other person wear their seatbelt are all required.
Section II – Demonstration
Demonstration of safety measures needed for a Lorry, buss, minibus or a truck. The walk around of the vehicle and the check on the luggage and such that provides the knowledge of the vehicle and its safety and of others. For the driver CPC exam you also need to demonstrate the Safety of the load and see if there is any issue with the vehicle before you start.
